Fundraising is, first and foremost, a form of ministry…Fundraising is proclaiming what we believe in such a way that we offer other people an opportunity to participate with us in our vision and mission.” Fundraising is a fact of life in Catholic schools and a special way of building community. Families are asked to assume an active role in fundraisers. Our major fundraisers include World’s Finest Chocolate, Super Raffle, and Walk-A-Thon. We continue to look for fundraising activities that are not a burden to our families and students.
Our fundraising obligations for all Pre-K through 8th grade families are:
One-half (50%) of all fundraising credits, which exceeds your annual family fundraising obligation, will be credited to your account (50% of chocolate sales, 100% of the super raffle, and 100% of the walkathon). Any year-ending account credit balances will be rolled into your account for the following year, or refunded upon request. Highlighted on this page are our fundraisers. Throughout the course of the year other projects may be undertaken by the school as a whole or by individual classes to meet specific needs. Your support is always greatly appreciated. BCA Fundraising Events
Walk-A-Thon
First held in 1985, this event provides an opportunity for the students of our community to fundraise. The Walk-A-Thon fundraiser begins in early September and culminates with our students participating in our Walk-A-Thon at Donovan Park in October. Super Raffle
This is the second fundraiser counting towards your annual family fundraising obligation. Families who participate can sell or purchase raffle tickets for $10 each, and all ticket stubs that are returned qualify to win the $10,000 Prize. This fundraiser begins in November and a winner is drawn at our Catholic Schools Week Mass in January. World's Finest Chocolate
For over 60 years, World’s Finest® Chocolate has helped organizations like Bridgeport Catholic Academy raise over $3 billion. Box Tops for Education
General Mills and Betty Crocker Boxtops with the label ‘Boxtops for Education’ serve as a fundraiser for Bridgeport Catholic Academy student programs. Boxtops can be sent in with your child or dropped off in the school office. Book Fairs
Two Scholastic Book Fairs are held each year, one in November and the second in April. Books are reasonably priced and all proceeds benefit Bridgeport Catholic Academy students. |
