Interested in joining our BCA Family?

Thank you for considering Bridgeport Catholic as an option for your child’s education. Please review the information below and contact us at 773-376-6223 if you have any questions about the registration process. We look forward to hearing from you!

Open enrollment takes place in the month of February. We will continue to accept registration applications, with the exception of our 6th and 7th grade,  until all spots are full. 

New Student Registration must be submitted through the school office. Please find the New Student Registration Information below. 

Admission Policies and Requirements
Bridgeport Catholic Academy has a non-discriminatory policy in accordance with the Archdiocese of Chicago. This policy is:
  • Every Catholic child, whether his parents are Catholic or not, has the right to attend his/her parish school;
  • Neither race, sex, creed, ethnic or national origin may prevent a child from being admitted to Bridgeport Catholic Academy;
  • As a general policy, any child admitted in September shall be allowed to complete the school year.

Order of Admission
Admission of students of the Bridgeport Catholic Academy shall be accepted in accordance with the following guidelines in the order of priority as listed:
  1. Students currently enrolled at Bridgeport Catholic Academy
  2. Brothers and sisters of currently-enrolled students
  3. Children of parishioners seeking enrollment for the first time or now reaching school age
  4. Applicants whose residence is in the Bridgeport Community: a.) Catholic; b.) Non-Catholic
  5. Transfer students from other Catholic schools: a.) From schools that are merging or consolidating; b.) From schools not offering full programs or from parishes with no schools
  6. Applicants whose residence is outside the Bridgeport community, only if and where space is available and as follows: a.) Catholic – with approval of Pastor and Principal in the home Parish; b.) Non-Catholic.

Age of Admission
A child entering Bridgeport Catholic Academy must be in compliance with the requirements of the State of Illinois regarding admission.
  • Pre-Kindergarten 3:  Child must be three years old by September 1st
  • Pre-Kindergarten 4:  Child must be four years old by September 1st
  • Kindergarten:  Child must be five years old by September 1st

Admission of New Students
For the admission of a Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, or First Grade student, parents shall present:
  • New Student Registration Form 
  • Tuition Policy & Agreement Form 
  • An official copy of the child’s birth certificate
  • The baptismal record (if applicable)
  • A record of compliance with the local and State of Illinois health requirements

Admission of Transfer Students
For the admission of transfer students, parents shall present the proper transfer or some appropriate notification from the school previously attended. Upon written request from BCA, all records from the former school, including health records, shall be transferred.

All transfer students will be subject to an evaluation and conference at the end of the first semester. Bridgeport Catholic Academy reserves the right to recommend alternative placement if the student is unable to comply with BCA’s academic standards and expectations or conform to BCA’s rules and regulations.

Examination of Past Records
Registration will not be finalized until previous academic records are furnished by the parent or the transferring school, and examined by Bridgeport Catholic Academy school officials to ensure proper placement.
