Bridgeport Catholic Academy Athletic Program

Bridgeport Catholic Academy offers a variety of athletic opportunities designed to teach the fundamentals of sports while promoting the values of commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship in our student-athletes.

Students are expected to attend all practices and games while also maintaining their academic responsibilities.

Our sports program is coordinated and led by the Bridgeport Catholic Academy Sports Committee, coaches, and dedicated parent volunteers, all of whom work together to create a positive and supportive environment for our athletes.

All activities are conducted in a spirit of Christian charity. While winning is valued, it is not the primary goal of our program. Our focus remains on the personal growth and character development of each student.

Bandits Basketball 
Basketball at Bridgeport Catholic AcademyBridgeport Catholic Academy offers basketball opportunities for students in Grades 1–8, with programs designed to promote skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork at every level.
  • Bitty Basketball: Rookie League – Co-ed, Grades 1 & 2
  • Bitty Basketball: Junior League – Co-ed, Grades 3 & 4
  • Junior Varsity Basketball – Separate teams for boys and girls, Grades 5 & 6
  • Varsity Basketball – Boys only, Grades 7 & 8
Through our basketball program, students build confidence, learn the value of teamwork, and develop a lifelong appreciation for athletics in a supportive and faith-based environment.

Cheerleading
BCA’s cheerleading program encourages school spirit, teamwork, and confidence. Student-athletes learn routines, cheers, and basic stunts while developing coordination, leadership, and a sense of community. Clinics and practice sessions are offered throughout the year to help participants improve skills and enjoy a fun, supportive environment.
  • Grades: Kindergarten through 8
Judo
Soccer 
BCA Sports has partnered with JSL and this spring we will be offering students the opportunity to play soccer with other BCA students. There will be four age groups and students will be placed on a coed BCA team based on their current grade. Players will be grouped as follows:
  • 1st and 2nd Grade
  • 3rd and 4th Grade
  • 5th and 6th Grade
  • 7th and 8th Grade
Volleyball
Bridgeport Catholic Academy offers volleyball programs for girls in Grades 1–8, designed to develop skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship at every level:
  • Instructional Volleyball – Grades 1–2
  • Minor Volleyball – Grades 3–4
  • Junior Varsity Volleyball – Grades 5–6
  • Varsity Volleyball – Grades 7–8

    ​Players have the opportunity to grow individually while contributing to a supportive team environment, with clinics and instructional sessions offered throughout the year to enhance technique and understanding of the game.
